Boot Key is very big but contains only a few fishing boats and a radio station.
Marathon is the Heart of the Keys.
The buzz in Kansas might be that Key West is all Gay... but it's actually all Tourists.
Marathon is good for diving, fishing and kicking back.
Since any 'getaway route' here would be about 100 miles, before you can make a turn

Remember to explore, when visiting the Keys.
It's easier to just pull off the road when you're hungry
but look where venturing another 1/2 mile can get you!
Do you want to gaze at the Highway while you dine, or at Nature's Glory?
the view from this Cafe deck also looks down upon Boot Key Harbor, the Boot Key Drawbridge and wild Boot Key itself.
You can cross the Drawbridge... or infiltrate by kayak and explore the little hidden passages that lead to huge interior Bays,
some with Islands of their own.
I explored in there for 10 years and only saw 1 other person.
Key West is located another 50 miles down the Island chain.
The Green Parrot is a very cool locals bar.
The nearby outdoor cafe, My Blue Heaven, is a great place to eat.
Don't mind the chickens.
If you want to party, head there.
If you do wish to seek out the Gay haunts, there's no shortage of that either.
Hotels can be pricey throughout the Keys
but rooms for 2 persons can be reserved for as little as $65, in Marathon.
You'll be amazed at everthing that's available on our little 1 x 6 mile Island,
including a public airport
If you've got a plane, this is a great destination, wherever you are from.
and we have law enforcement embedded from half a dozen agencies,
there is very little crime in the Florida Keys.
Once you are here, you will not want to go back to the real world.
